It’s Spring! Today the earth has moved around the sun so that today the length of night and day are exactly the same. After today, the days will be longer than the nights! We have turned the corner toward summer.
People all over the world have paid attention to the change in the length of day as it’s a major guide for a farmer’s and gardener’s spring planting times. It also figures into the inner clocks that animals use for their great migrations, and so people have monitored the equinox and moons and the behavior animals across the land and water. Observance of Equinox guided the making of modern calendars, and it typically falls on either March 20 or 21 each year.
Now, for the next 6 months (until the Autumnal Equinox in September) the days will longer days than the nights. Enjoy the light everyone!
